After posting my review of Samsung’s Galaxy Ace 2 (GT-I8160), gemfuzion suggested I post a few benchmarks run on the phone so users can compare the device to other mid-range phones on the market. So here they are!
I have used the following apps to provide these benchmarks:
- Browsermark
- Passmark
- Quadrant
- Linpack
- Nenamark 2
Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 (GT-I8160) Browsermark Benchmark Results
The Browsermark score for the I8160 was 68163. The score for the Galaxy Nexus is 90433.
Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 (GT-I8160) Passmark Benchmark Results
Passmark is a very in depth application for benchmarking android phones, I purchased the pro version just for this blog post! Here are the results:
- System: 1133
- CPU: 2763
- Disk: 1023
- Memory: 659
- 2D Graphics: 1279
- 3D Graphics: 609
Overall, the I8160 scores just above the HTC Desire HD and just under the LG Optimus 2X and 3D. It’s also not that far off the Galaxy S2. Below are the screenshots from Passmark run on the I8160:

Thank you very much for doing the benchmarks !
No problem! If you want any more info on the phone just let me know.
Hi, what about battery test?
How would you recommend I do this?
If it’s easy enough I will do it
Maybe from your experience. Just tell how you use it and how many times you have had to charge the battery so far
I use my phone a lot through the day, mostly browsing the web and listening to music. I have to charge it every night.
If i don’t use the phone much, I can get away with charging it every other day.
Charging it is pretty fast, only taking a couple of hours.
Overall, I think the battery life is ok, bordering on poor… If i was using the phone constantly I would buy a second battery.
How about comparing it with XPERIA U (specially benchmarks)…
I don’t have an xperia u or know anyone I could borrow one off, and so I couldn’t really compare them.
I could look up the specs and benchmarks then compare those, but that wouldn’t be a proper comparison. I decided when I made this blog I would not write about anything I don’t have personal experience with. So I won’t review a phone I have never used just for traffic.

I wanna know when will this phone be available in India and how much will it cost? Please reply soon Thanks.
From what I have read online, and the i8150 never came out in India, and neither will the i8160.

Hi, very nice benchmarks! I wanted to know if the 1650mah battery of the Samsung Galaxy S Plus fits in the Ace 2? Thanks in advance
No, the battery’s are different dimensions, but you can buy better battery’s for the phone online. There’s a 1700Mah one for about $6 on dx.com
And with 1GHz and 1.2GHz clocking? CPU support 1.2 Ghz maxximum without damage
